Friday was family movie day for Y&M...our company invited the staff and their family for a movie, some popcorn, hotdogs and a drink, and an all around good time!  I was supposed to take more pictures at the event but I got lazy and since Jalna was doing such a great job I thought I'd let her finish :)  Here are a few that I actuallly were able to snap...

Rangers vs. Angels

Ok, so this was the highlight of our trip -- heading to Arlington to watch a ballgame.  The Rangers were playing the Angels, apparently it was supposed to be an exciting series (yah, I don't pay attention to anyone else but the Red Sox).  But we all love baseball right?  Any game is a good game!  After a long day of class we braved the traffic (about an hour) and the horrible weather (UGH!) and headed to Arlington to cheer on the Rangers.

When we pulled up to the ballpark, I checked the weather report on my phone.  This is what it said:

I didn't want to get out of my comfortable air conditioned car.  But alas, when we got to the entrance, this is what they said:

A little better, but not much.  I was actually quite miserable.  But hey, we drove all this way, gotta make the best of it right?  We put on a happy face and headed into right field...

Melissa and I lasted about 2 innings.  It was so bloody hot I thought one of us was gonna pass out before the 7th inning stretch.  We found an ice cream shop (air conditioned) in the stadium and went to cool off.  Of course, just my luck, it was an exciting game.  When we left it was about the 6th inning and I think the Rangers were losing by 4.  When we got back to the hotel we found out that they went 10 innings and came back from behind and won the game :|  Go figure.

This was the temperature when we left:

yah, not much difference.  We were literally drenched with sweat.  Not too sexy eh?  Yah.  We could literally feel the sweat dripping down the back of our legs when we were sitting in our seats.  It was pretty gross.  Back to the hotel we went for a nice cold shower.  Next time I come to Texas (if there is a next time) it's gonna be in the winter.

Frisco, TX

Well, not really Dallas, but close...Melissa and I have HL7 and Corepoint training all week in Frisco, Texas.  What's in Frisco?  ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There's not much in Dallas either.  If you have any suggestions we'd be happy to hear from you!

After our 2 hour delay at LAX, we finally arrived in Dallas around 4 pm.  No kidding, it actually took us one stinkin hour to get out of the airport.  We kept driving round and round in circles, there was construction all over the place and the stuuuupid airport is just plain confusing.  By the time we reached Frisco we were starving.  We weren't sure where to eat so I hopped on Yelp and found Babe's Chicken, a popular fried chicken restaurant.  It seemed to have good reviews so we decided to give it a try. 

It's a really cute restaurant, it has a really old and rustic feeling

Keep in mind, this is dinner for TWO people...we had no idea what we were in for!  Did I mention that these are UNLIMITED side dishes?!?!

I swear there were like 8 pieces of chicken in here!!

I forgot to get the pictures of it with the gravy...

And there was even dessert!  I had the chocolate meringue pie and Melissa had the apple cobbler with ice cream

I would've taken more pictures of the area but it was so friggen hot that I decided against it.  Oh yah, by the way, it's a 104° today.

We checked in to the Aloft Hotel and were very happy with our room!  This room is dirt cheap for $108/night

*Yawn* ok, it's getting late and we start class tomorrow...I better get to bed.  See you tomorrow!

Lanikai

My brother in law Tracey needed photos for something-or-another (haha, I don't remember!) so he asked me if I could take a few shots in Lanikai.  It was a perfect day, thank goodness, it was one of the fastest shoots ever, maybe half an hour??  Although we almost killed ourselves climbing up the wall...I swear I'm getting too old for this!  You can check him out on facebook here
