The Embarcadero
Humphrey Slocombe
some Mexican restaurant
Academy of Sciences

This was our last day in the city so we had to make sure we made the most of it. So for our last good lunch Randy said he wanted to go back to Gott's for a burger. Of course, like always, it was delicious.

When we walked outside, we saw this long line of people waiting for rotisserie chicken and sandwiches. Maybe we should try here next time!
They have really good open markets here. Everything looks so good!
Across the street from the ferry building were these funny looking heads.
After lunch we were craving ice cream so we took Mmiissee's advice and headed over to the Mission for Humphrey Slocombe! What an awesome find! Thank you Mmiissee!!!
I don't know what's up with this little two headed cow but I thought it was cute so I took a picture of it.
If you check out their website, you'll see that they have a bunch of funky exotic flavors. A single serving consists of 2 small scoops of ice cream, so if you can't decide which flavor you want then at least you can get two of them! I chose sea salt chocolate and peanut butter curry. YUMMMMM!!
Randy had secret breakfast (bourbon + corn flakes? I think that's what he said, I forgot) and Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee
Ok, so even after a burger, fries, and ice cream, Randy walked into some Mexican restaurant in the Mission district and ordered a taco!

Later on that evening the California Academy of Sciences held "Nightlife," an event that they hold every Thursday evening, where they open up the museum to guests 21 and over and they have a live DJ playing music and alcohol is served throughout the museum. Oh yah, and you also get in for only 12 bucks!
Kinda gross but I guess someone's gotta do it...
I couldn't take pictures in most of the exhibits because they didn't allow any photography. I was able to take pictures in the aquarium though, but I totally sucked at it. Jalna, you're my idol!! Here's some of my attempts:

we called this Mick and Mattie in lizard form.
This was my only decent picture of the evening...

San Francisco, Day 7

Castro
Baker Beach

Randy and I woke up early this morning to take a good power walk around the neighborhood. By 10:00 he was hungry so we walked up the street to Roxies. Both Ron and Randy from Kaiser recommended this place to get some good sandwiches. Doesn't Randy look like a criminal?? That's him in the navy blue jacket if you couldn't tell...

This is the beauty of staying at a place close to the restaurant. We brought everything back to the apartment and comfortably ate it there. This is my salami sandwich ($5.99). It was good, but I prefer Little Lucca's. Their sauce is what makes it better than all the rest.
Randy had the salami too, except he had a soft white bread (I had dutch crunch) and mines was heated up.
The weather was horrible in our area so we drove to the Castro, (where there was sun!) and walked around there. It's the first time I've actually spent time there, boy that was an experience!
Here's Randy praying to the the tequila gods
For lunch we stopped by Dino's Pizza, on Fillmore. It's no Lombardi's, but it was still yummy.
Later that evening I met the Romano's at Baker Beach to take some family pictures. IT WAS FREEZING!!
Randy and I snuck in a couple of pictures too...

San Francisco, Day 6

A cold, windy day in San Francisco

Today was a horrible day to take pictures...it was extremely cold and windy and it rained off and on all day. I took my camera to lunch only because I wanted to get pictures of Gott's Roadside Burgers. I was thrown at first because it's name was recently changed from Taylor's Automatic
Refresher. **For those of you who've been here, it's the same restaurant, just different name! This restaurant is definately one of the top three burger joints on our list. It's located in the Embarcadero Ferry Building. You must come here if you're in the area!!
My yummy cheeseburger and fries...
Randy also got a bowl of chili on the side
Ok, right after he ate the burger, fries, and chili, Randy walked out to the open market and decided he wanted to eat a tamale also!!
I don't know where he puts all this. This guy is a bottomless pit!
The rest of the day was pretty much worthless. We walked around chinatown a little bit but it was cold and rainy.

For dinner, Ruby and I met with my old boss Randy and his wife Jasmine at La Bergerie. It was a cute little french restaurant near the hospital. I brought my camera to take a picture of the food but I was too shame to take pictures in there. It was a quaint little place and I didn't think it would be appropriate to bus' out my camera in the middle of dinner. The food was tasty, I ate rabbit for the first time! It was also very affordable. Soup, salad, main dish and ice cream for $18.95! I guess you can't go wrong there!

Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow so I can take more pictures of this great city...
