Sunday, December 13, 2009
Kakaako Park

I had the honor of photographing the Matsumoto Family this past Sunday. I had first met them when I was taking pictures for The Mighty Rhinos. Meet (from left to right) Jordan, Whitney, and Mia...

This is cousin Sean...he's from Washington but he goes to UH
Mia graciously posed for me as I was checking my settings...

I got some pics of mommy and daddy too but they were too shy and didn't wanna be on the blog :( Thanks Elise! I had fun!

Randy and the Marathon...

Sunday, December 13, 2009
Honolulu Marathon

Ok, since I didn't train at all so I decided not to do the marathon this year. So, Randy went by himself. He walks really fast normally but I can't believe how fast his time was....this is how it went: first of all he's walking this because he tore some ligaments in his left knee and he hasn't gotten around to getting it fixed yet.

So at the beginning of the race, maybe 4-5 miles in or so he decides he's hungry. He stops at 4, yes 4! ABC stores looking for musubis but he couldn't find any.

He also took a shi shi break at Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Out in Hawaii Kai by Jalna's house there's a little convenience store and he went in there to grab a snickers bar.

I met him about 500 yards before the finish line, and about 50 yards before the finish line a japanese lady collapses and he goes over to help...

AND HE FINISHES IN ABOUT 7 HOURS. >:( This only upsets me because when we walked together the last 2 years we came in around 8:20!!

Now I gotta train again for next year so I can try to beat his time! He did say he jogged a little here and there but, ugh! that's not fair!

Here's a picture of him taken by Jalna by her house....according to Jalna he "was still fresh" when he passed her. This is right before the Snickers Bar :|
This is where I met him...sheesh! so serious! He doesn't even notice me!
After all of that, he still had enough energy to do all this silly stuff at the finish line!

He actually was in a lot of pain afterwards...he had some blisters and sore muscles. Good job Booly! But I'm coming after you!!

Ala Wai Canal/Convention Center

It's that time of the year again to take Kelli Ann and Tomiko's Christmas pictures! I've been lucky enough to have them ask me for the past few years to do this project. Here are some from the past:

This year we decided to go to the back of the convention center, next to the Ala Wai Canal...

Our Anniversary

Saturday, November 21, 2009
Hilton Hawaiian Village

Ok, I've been busy (and a little lazy!) so this post is kinda late...Randy and I celebrated our anniversary by staying a night at Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was very relaxing and we actually had a good time!

This was the view from our room when we checked in...we were on the 27th floor of the Rainbow Tower
I brought my tripod to get a few shots while the sun was going down...I didn't get the sunset because it was right behind the wall of our lanai :(
I also woke up early hoping for a beautiful sunset...I was unsuccessful. Ugh! I woke up at 5:30 for nothing!
The beach is very beautiful when no one is on it!!
It was 7:00 and we were bored out of our minds so we decided to take a walk along the beach...
These Japanese tourists were so cute learning how to hula...at 7 in the morning!! Yikes! They're on vacation! Are they nuts?
Here's Randy getting all grouchy with me cause I'm taking too long taking pictures...

Arlene

Kaka'ako Park

This is my co-worker Arlene...she's almost 7 months pregnant and she asked me if I could do some maternity pics. I was quite nervous, I had never done this before! I mean how the heck do you pose someone with their belly sticking out without having them look fat?!?! Good thing she's a petite girl, I didn't have much problems with her :) This was actually a really good experience for me, and thank you Arlene for being so patient and such a good sport!

This is her boyfriend Kaimi...
This started out as a silhouette pic, it didn't quite work so I tried to play with it in photoshop...I kinda like the grainy look of it!
