Kapiolani Park
Tag the World is a charity event to raise awareness about 5 different causes - Cancer, Children, Africa, Global Awareness, and animals. When I heard it was coming to Hawaii I jumped at the chance to volunteer for this and also dragged Jalna and Erick with me. Originally Mia Hamm, Laird Hamilton and Gabrielle Reece were all supposed to participate, which was the main reason I wanted to do this...how cool would that be?? Unfortunately they couldn't attend but I had an awesome time anyways!
This is Robert Parks-Valleta, the force behind the project...he's an actor on The Young and The Restless, and also president of Tag the World...
This is his hard working and beautiful side-kick, Hannah Cornett...actress/pro-athlete/VP of Tag the World
This is Doug Beter from Rainbow Pigeons...5 foster children each let a bird go, each representing a tag
Then he let the rest go. He said they can be released anywhere in the island and they will be back at his Pearl City home within 2 hours!
I was assigned the bike portion of the race. It was fun cause I got to ride around on a motorcycle and hop around to different spots on the course

What a coincidence! This is the guy who's gear I took a picture of!
You mean people actually have fun riding up Montserrat? It's hard even walking that hill!
And finally the home stretch down Diamond Head...if you look closely, you'll see that he's wearing a Cat In The Hat jersey! So cute!
After I got bored shooting the bikers, I took a ride down to the finish line...this is Jeremy Jackson sprinting all the way to the end!
Here's Robert and his relay partner!
Ok, gotta go home and get some rest...cause tonight is the red carpet luau!

Wow, wow, wow, you did a great job, Les!!
thanks Jalna! I hope I get a more exciting spot next time!
Well, I should have read this post first to find who the people are in your other post. My husband would like those pictures of the bikers since he rides too. He hasn't done any triathons though. We have an event here called "Eppie's Great Race" and he's done the bicycle part a couple of times. He has to be part of a team to do just the bike part.
Great photos!!
Thanks Betty! Your husband should try a triathlon...they're lots of fun! It's hard work training for it but in the end it's all worth it! I did one in '98 and never did one again...maybe I'll try again soon!
Okay...I LOVE Sean Faris. I used to have tons of pictures of him. :)
marv you crack me up!!
