Paris/Edinburgh
Yaaay! I finally got internet access! We finally had a semi-sunny day in Paris yesterday, too bad we coudn't do much because we had to leave for the airport around 2:00. We did some walking around and ended up at Hotel de Ville. I have no idea about the history, I didn't research (haha of course) but it's a beautiful building!
We arrived in Scotland around 7, our flight was delayed about an hour. From the time I stepped off the plane I knew I would love the place. It is gorgeous here. I hope the weather keeps up, there's tons of pictures that I would like to take. It's freezing and windy, and we got a cute little room at 94dr a boutique guest house in Edinburgh. Paul, one of the owners greeted us and he was VERY friendly and when we got to our room we were pleasantly surprised. The only problem is is that I don't know how to control the temperature in the room so it's a bit chilly, and I have no idea how to control the shower. I was able to take a shower last night, but the water wasn't as quite as hot as I had hoped, so when I got out I was freezing cause the room was cold! I hope I'm doing something wrong otherwise I'm gonna go around stinky in Edinburgh!
I'm not sure when I'm gonna blog my Paris pictures, maybe when I get back so everything is in order? whattya think? Or should I just add them in in between posts? hmmm...Either way I'll be posting daily after this (i hope!)

Geez, the craziness just doesn't want to end! We finally got to Paris around 9:30 tonight after another long day of travel. When we finally got to the hotel the guy said their wi-fi was down but I was wezlcome to use the computer in the lobby. Hopefully it will be up tomorrow qnd I can post some pics. Good thing I don't have much to blog cause this isn't a stqndard keyboard!!! I usually can type pretty fast but some of the keys are in different places and it's throwing me off.
hopefully I'll hqve more to share with you tomorrow :(

Sansoucsi Palace
Today we took a side trip to the town of Potsdam, home of Sansouci Palace. It took about an hour to get there and I'm really glad we went. Both the town and the palace grounds were beautiful.
Even though the palace was closed it was so worth it. This place is HA-UUUGE. I was telling Randy I think the grounds was bigger than Kailua. The actual palace grounds was huge too. I wonder how many people actually lived there. I would hate to have left something in one room and have to walk half way across the earth to go back and get it!
Dinner was uneventful, our food was kinda junk. I had some kind of pork chop with cream of mushrooms and weird pasta, and Randy had goulash. Not worth blogging...
Off to Paris tomorrow but we won't get there till late. Not sure how much pics I'll get in before my bedtime. Tata for now!
Germans are very bike friendly...
We walked this looooong path which I swear was over half a mile...
we finally made it to the palace
I went to pee and Randy saw this sign:

Berlin Walking Tour
Saturday, April 21, 2012
Whenever we go to a new city Randy and I try to take a walking tour. It's a good way to get some exercise and we're too lazy to learn about the history of these places on our own. Today was no exception. We met up with Original Berlin Walks for a four hour tour. It's so worth it. It was only €9 cause we bought a Berlin welcome pass. The only problem was was that over the four hours of information, I remember squat. By the end of the day I was so exhausted I had to take a 2 hour nap. Don't test me on any of these places cause I'm gonna have to go back and read about it again to freshen my memory...
I'm such an idiot. I took a picture of the menu with my camera and then later on realized that Randy ordered from the other side of the menu so I took a picture of it with his camera. I ended up taking the same picture! Ugh! Anyways, I wanted to eat something authentic so I ordered Pork Knuckles! I had no idea what to expect, but Randy said he read somewhere that it was supposed to be good.
I'm exhausted and I'm going back to bed. Don't know what's in store for tomorrow...I'll keep you posted!

Outside Alexanderplatz Station...man, with all the subway trains i've took over the years I thought I was a pro at this. Berlin's system is confusing!
It was about 8:40 pm Hawaii time when I took this picture
Hackescher Markt Station, meeting place for our walking tour
We arrived about an hour early (9:30 am) and guess what Randall's doing...
Ok, this dude in the funky clothes was there waiting for us. I'm so glad he wasn't our guide, I wouldn't be able to take him seriously! Those are blue suede boots he's wearing by the way!
Museum Island
This is our guide Ashleigh. She is amazing. She's from the UK but her knowledge about Berlin is incredible!
Berliner Dom
Lustgarten
Humbolt University
Brandenburg Gate
This is the hotel where Michael Jackson hung his baby out the window!
The Berlin Wall (or what's left of it!)
This is called a beer bike. There's seats for about 10 people who pedal around the city drinking beer! It's hilarious!
Checkpoint Charlie
Does anyone know what a currywurst is? Randy's been dying to try one. We tried to get one this morning but the place was closed. There's actually a currywurst museum. That's what this truck is for
Gendarmenmarkt
Those are rain clouds forming...it only lasted for about 10 minutes though
After the tour we were pretty hungry and we heard Ashleigh recommend this place to another couple
Randy wanted to eat sausage so he chose from this menu

Ohmygawwd it was amazing. I think he ended up eating more of it than I did1
Randy got the fried sausages with mashed potatoes. His was good too, but not as good as mines :-)
He was actually excited to take pictures at this meal. That's a first!
We did pretty good!
After linner (it was only 4:30 by the way) we went back to the wall to check out Topography of Terror
Holy cow, for those of you who know my high school soccer coach BJ, don't you think this looks like her??
WTH? They made the elementary school children learn a prayer for Hitler
I'm exhausted and I'm going back to bed. Don't know what's in store for tomorrow...I'll keep you posted!
