London and Berlin

So I hardly slept a wink last night, due to the heebeejeebees and Randy wanting to sleep with the light on.  Randy woke up early also so we went for a walk around the neighborhood at 6am since breakfast wasn't served at the hotel till 7.  It was a cool (actually very COLD) and crisp London morning and while on our stroll we noticed that Kensington Gardens was very close to where we were staying.  It was a perfect way to kill an hour of our time.

This is the street outside our hotel
 Our bed bug hotel...
There are cute little alleyways all over the place
Isn't this the coolest car???  I have no idea what kind of business it's for

Randy is trying to shoot a panoramic video...
**I'm trying to upload his video here but it's not working and I'm getting frustrated. Anybody know how?  It's an MOV file.  I'm too lazy to upload it to youtube to embed it.  Is there an easier way?
Cute fountain yah?
 Ugh!  Looking all had-its again

Ok so here's where it went bad.  Really bad.  We headed out for Berlin at 9:30.  We had to take a subway, a train, then a 2 hour flight.  I don't know if it's because of the drastic changes of temperatures (I was in cold/hot/cold/hot all morning) but by the time I got to the airport I was feeling a bit nauseous.  I grabbed a yogurt and some pretzels to hopefully settle my stomach and it seemed to do the trick.  I grabbed an extra bag of pretzels for the flight just in case.  I passed out on the plane and slept for about an hour.  When I woke up I was feeling sick. Oh god, I thought I was gonna hurl.  I was taking some deep breaths and concentrating not to toss my cookies.  It was a packed flight full of crazy Brits (I'll explain this later) so I really didn't want to puke my guts out next to a complete stranger.  I started breaking out into a cold sweat and didn't want to move.  I don't know what I did but finally after about 20 minutes the feeling subsided and I made it to the end of the flight.  I told Randy I wanted to wait to get out of the plane last just in case... By the time I got to customs I was feeling alright.  God I hope this doesn't happen again for the rest of the trip.  I absolutely hate barfing and I'll sit there and be miserable just so I don't have to vomit.

After a 9 hour commute, we finally arrived in Berlin
We still didn't reach our hotel for another hour. We had to wait for our train for about 1/2 an hour then we had to hop on a subway after that.
But we finally made it!!  And this place was nice!! AND CLEAN!! This is Motel One, and it's literally about 50 yards away from the subway station
Randy just went down for a nap and it doesn't sound like he's waking up anytime soon.  I'm exhausted so I'm gonna try and get some sleep too.  See you tomorrow!

Oh wait!  Yes I forgot...the crazy Brits! My goodness.  I'm not sure if all flights were like this but I felt like I was on a high school bus.  They were really loud, drinking beer and having a grand old time.  I swear it sounded like they were having a party on the plane.  It was hilarious.  I told Randy he should've video taped it.  Maybe if it's like that on the way back we will.

Sounds like you guys are having a fabulous time. I think it was a bit of "mind over matter" getting over your illness in a short time. Where to next?

If you went inside the phone booth, maybe you'd see Harry Potter or at least the Ministry of Magic! Beautiful shots but too bad about the sickness!

Hi Lance -- yah, that was a tough one. We're having a blast, after Berlin I'm headed over to Paris :)

Jenny - funny you should say tbat, the booth that I took a picture in front of had a bunch of nudie ads for strip clubs or something! hahaha!! I'm feeling much better today, thanks!

I almost missed this post. Beautiful shots! I can't believe what amazing travelers you guys are. I think you would so win at Amazing Race. Judging from the Knuckle thing you ate in Berlin, looks like you totally overcame your nauseousness! Hahaha!

I told you, we can't go on Amazing Race cause we'd fight too much and we won't find our destination! But I also said we'd make good tv :) Maybe by then everyone would believe me how psycho my husband is.

Nauseousness is gone but I gotta hop on another plane tomorrow. Wish me luck!
