Las Vegas

Las Vegas...sort of...

Randy and I went to Las Vegas for the weekend to celebrate our 6th anniversary. Since there's not much to take pictures of in Vegas I only busted out my camera one day. That day we started off going to M&M Soul Food Cafe. We've been there before and before we left I told Randy that I wanted to eat some waffles and wings. I don't know my geography too well but we traveled West, towards Red Rock...is that still considered Vegas??

Anyways, the food here is great, I don't know if it's authentic, I've never been to the south. But who cares? The food is absolutely yummy and the staff here is really nice
Both of us ordered the Chicken and Waffles for breakfast. Both were excellent, and I'm not a breakfast food person. I'd rather eat a soup and salad for breakfast than eggs and bacon...but these waffles were incredible!!
I don't know if you can read this but it's on Valley View and Charleston
In the Westgate shopping center...
After breakfast Randy thought he'd be a nice guy and let me take pictures out at Red Rock Canyon. Except look what we ran into! Rain! and Wind! ugh!
What? It was freezing and raining! I'd hate to see the sign in the summertime...I wonder if it's on fire.
Since we didn't stop at the canyons, we decided on going to Hoover Dam instead. We missed the cut off so when we turned around we got out and stretched our legs. Here's Randy in front of what we thought was the Tillman bridge...
Haha. nope that wasn't it. It was further down the road.
It is on the border of Nevada and Arizona
It's kinda neat...you walk across the bridge while looking over the Hoover Dam. It does get kind of freaky if you're afraid of heights! And it was COLD!! Low 50s and windy!!
Randy stole the camera for the rest of the excursion

We returned to M&M Cafe the next day because Randy noticed someone ordering pork chops on another table. Another winner! You should order it with the gravy on the side because it's just as delicious without the gravy. The gravy is a bonus! I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs. Those were yummy too. I didn't bring my camera that time because this was our shopping day and I didn't want to deal with it at the malls...

50 degrees isn't bad, however, with the wind...bummers...that would make it COLD!! I've never been to the Hoover Dam...pretty impressive.

I looove the glass cup!! Sooo neat. And your waffles and chicken looked good. "Moderate" chance of fire . . . FUNNY!! How come no more water going down the dam? I thought supposed to have water going down dams, that's how you get power to light up 50,000 homes or something like that.

Jalna - cute yah the cup! Don't ask me any questions about the dam...you do remember the whole locks situation don't you?!?!

That wings and waffles look so good. There used to be a soul food restaurant in Wahiawa, not sure if it still there, they had the best smoked chicken and smoked ribs. There is a new soul food place on St. Louis and Waialae, I want to try that one out.

The bridge is the new one they just built in front of Hoover Dam. I didn't know it was dedicated to Tillman, very cool.
