Buenos Aires Day 9

Colonia, Uruguay

MECLIZINE IS THE BEST MEDICINE EVER!!!!!!!! For those of you who don't know, the ocean and I just don't get along...I get seasick at the calmest conditions. When I went to Alaska last year, my doctor prescribed me Meclizine and I was very worried that it wouldn't work. To my surprise, I was able to tolerate a 3 hr whale watching cruise!! I never leave home without it now if I know I'll be doing anything possible to do with the ocean.

Randy and I took the Buquebus to Colonia, Uruguay. It's a one hour ferry ride and thank god I had my medication cause the boat was rockin! I had to get up in the middle of the ride to use the bathroom and I had to hold on to everything in sight because I couldn't keep my balance. Anyways, Colonia is a very quiet little town in Uruguay, not much there but like La Boca, the buildings have lots of color! Great photo ops here. Here's some sights around town...

Yeah, we couldn't resist...he petted the dog and he followed us around for awhile...

I was taking pictures of kids in a schoolyard when these boys noticed me. They started waving and posing...so cute, yah?

This is the sunset from the ferry ride home...

I know about Meclizine. A friend of mine who has episodes of vertigo told me about it. I haven't tried it yet for my vertigo, been taking Dramamine when i need to. These pictures are awesome. Dogs seem to search you and Randy out. They sense that you truly love dogs, huh! That sunset is totally awesome!! Those kids are cute too.

Wow, super cool colors! What a great photo opportunity. I glad you had fun on the boat ride, being seasick is not fun. Enjoy your next adventure!

yah, it was great cause there's no one around to get in your way and stuff...you can just snapping away! The boat ride was pretty boring, you just watch a lot of brown yucky water! :P

Hey, what happened? I missed this post! Les, you so lucky 'cause people already looked at this one and might not return, and they're gonna miss me telling everybody about the time time you went kayaking outside of Hawaii Kai and got seasick and had to be rescued by the fire department. "Come back . . . *whistle* *whistle* *whistle* . . . come back . . . " Remember that from Titanic? Something like that anyway.

The empanadas look deep fried, so they're not as healthy as yours was. By the way, I ain't wearing the hat thing the next time you make it.

Well it's a good thing you missed it, cause no one needs to know about that silly incident.

The empanadas were deep fried, crunchy and yummy! What do you mean you're not wearing the hat? I already started knitting you one!

I like the picture with the bench on the sidewalk with the trees. The picture with the kids is also a good one. Looks like it should be in National Geographic.
